ARTY 38: EAR

Spring / Summer 2017

Launch event: Friday 24 February 2017
at Transition Gallery, London E9

Arty 38 is guest edited by Paul Carey-Kent, a writer and curator whose excellent blog, Paul's Art World, features a rolling ten recommended contemporary art shows in London now. Paul is a long-time Arty contributor and Pissing on a Chair, his review poem of a work by Wolfgang Tillmans, from Arty 12: Nature, features in our anthology Arty Greatest Hits.

For his Arty guest spot Paul has zoned in on the ear and there are many nuanced thoughts about ears and hearing throughout the issue in a series of articles and poems by a diverse group of contributors.

Arty Ear was conceived of alongside an exhibition - Ears for the Eyes - which runs at Transition Gallery until 4 March 2017. There is more about this and a multitude of other ear related matters from bats to beauty in the issue.
